Hi,

Please read the entire description before making any conclusions about the job assignment, then let me know if you are a good fit.

I’m looking for a writer to create short stories consisting of 2-3 pages. The stories should have rich characters and a central theme in which a point of wisdom is conveyed.

Each story will consist of the following:

Characters (2-3)
VAKS formula for storytelling should be employed
Visual: Integrate sight-related words for visual learners
Audio: Integrate audio-related words for audio learners
Kinesthetic (feeling) - mood, touch
Smell - odor, perfume, scents
Give your audience one emotional and VAKS aspect of your important characters
Find the memorable VAKS detail that helps the audience picture your character
Use adjective names to help the audience picture your minor characters
“Strictly Business Clerk” “Friendly Security Guard” “Average Joe” “Mr. Skeptical
- There should be dialogue between characters
- As the story develops humor should be uncovered in the dialogue between characters
- There should be a balanced mix of dialogue and narration
- Circumstances
- Use VAKS formula for transporting audience into the setting
- Visual
- Audio
- Kinesthetic (feel of the environment)
- Smell

Conflict
Conflicts create questions
The conflict should escalate
Don’t give away the cure until you have escalated the conflict
audience should be able to see it, feel it, and hear it; sometimes smell
As audience members we pay close attention to see how the characters overcome their adversities
Cure
You need a scene where the conflict is resolved or transcended
The cure involves the scene showing how the character find the answer to their dilemma
How did they come upon the knowledge to resolve?
How did they use that revelation to transcend their conflict?
New way of look, think, or act about something
Change in main character
Then, Now, and How
Shows the change in characters from pre conflict to post cure - How have they changed since discovering the new ways?
Transitions seamlessly into the carry out message
Carryout message
Don’t take the audience back home without giving them the message (foundational phrase)
Meaningful message

Sample skeleton:

Point of Wisdom: We are in the wrong place; we got off the wrong stop

“We are in the wrong place!” (foundational phrase)
Characters - Mother, Me (9 years old), Brother (8 years old), Train Security guards
Conflict - We are lost at train station, after getting off the wrong stop too early
Cure - As next train arrives, we realize we got off the wrong stop
Change - We get back on the train and get off at the correct stop
Carry out message/transition - Some of you are in the wrong place when it come to certain areas of your life
