Medical Insurance Payment Posting Specialist

Seeking a medical insurance claim payment poster for our multiple-doctor Optometry practice!
We are Somerset Eye Care a 5-doctor optometry practice based in North Brunswick, NJ, USA. We also handle the billing for our "sister" practice Metuchen Vision in Metuchen, NJ.
Your responsibilities:
- Posting medical insurance claim payments directly to the patient's billing account.
- Ensuring payments are matched to expected insurance allowance amounts.
- Access claim payment portal websites for remittance advices/explanation of benefits (EOBs)
- Collecting EOBs sent by in-office staff and posting to patient's account.
- View accounts receivable reports at least once per month to generate a "follow-up list"
- Ability to work independently with detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Performs any other appropriate billing/payment posting functions as assigned
Must haves:
- Prior experience with medical claim handling
- Comprehensive knowledge of coding, billing, processes, and requirements
- HIPAA certified
- Proficient in Google Docs and Microsoft Excel
Preferences:
- More than one monitor (or at least a desktop computer with a large screen) w/camera and microphone
- VPN access
- High-speed internet
- A Skype account, we'll pay for your annual premium account
The position may start only as part-time while training is occurring but will eventually become full-time. Working hours are flexible but availability between 8 am and 6 pm (US Eastern) is preferred at least for the first few months of employment.
