Managing Director - Startup

Role Overview: As the Managing Director, your role will be pivotal in the startup's leadership. You will spearhead the design and development of the app, craft Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, and drive user growth. Your collaboration with the technical team and your oversight of application development will be fundamental aspects of your responsibilities. Moreover, this role offers the prominent opportunity to potentially assume leadership of the entire startup. The company specializes in the acquisition and sale of social media handles, and as a senior hire, you will lead and steer the company's endeavors in this specific domain.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills as the co-founder of the startup.
Lead the design and development of the app from scratch, from UI/UX design to building the MVP to a fully functional application.
Develop and implement Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies and drive user growth.
Contribute to digital marketing efforts to promote the startup.
Oversee the development of full-stack applications, ensuring high-quality, fully functional solutions.
Collaborate with the technical team to ensure project completion within time and budget.
Requirements:

Technical Skills:

At least 2 years of experience as a developer. Note: This DOES NOT mean you should have 2 years of industry experience. This means you should be hacking your way with web development for at least 2 years.
Ability to juggle between frontend and backend.
Prioritize code simplicity and adherence to best practices.
Implement various functionalities in the project.
Ensure code cleanliness, functionality, and adherence to coding best practices (no use of `var` please).
Develop the architecture design, focusing on user flow.
Make sure your code works and is maintainable.
Make sure you are comfortable with the use of TypeScript for both frontend and backend, therefore you should be very good with JavaScript. For example, we are not the right place for you (unfortunately) if you're great at Python but can't stand working with JavaScript.
Ability to sit down and Google - you should be a good Googler. No exceptions here.
UI/UX Skills:

Ability to handle heavy front-end tasks.
You should be great at building UIs (from Figma/or photos).
You should be comfortable with TailwindCSS.
Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements and user feedback.
Translate requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns, and visually appealing user interfaces.
Design various UI elements, including input controls, navigation components, and informational components.
Identify and resolve UX issues, including responsiveness problems.
Non-Technical Skills:

Professionalism and adherence to high ethical standards.
Communication skills and kindness to others, even when they make errors and mistakes.
Sense of ownership and drive to build
Ability to learn and iterate quickly
Organize and mobilize a team around a product vision.
Past experience in managing and mentoring junior engineers is good.
