Our Graphic Designer (GD) is responsible for overall graphic excellence. The Graphic Designer’s duties include producing informational and publishable artwork used for blog posts. The ideal GD combines art and technology to communicate ideas through any images needed by the customers, the layout of websites and blog pages. They work with both text and images, and may use a variety of design elements to achieve artistic or decorative effects. Through the use of images, text, and color, Graphic Designer can transform statistical data into visual graphics and diagrams, which can make complex ideas more accessible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
An objective of a Graphic Designer is to follow SOP Procedure to minimize errors and fulfills the customers need and expectations. Hence, the Graphic Designers are responsible of the following:
-Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts
-Creatse data visualizations to support podcast/blog content
-Uses digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designs
-Creates visual elements such as logos, original images, captions, banners, and illustrations that help deliver a desired message
-Designs layouts and select colors, images, and typefaces to use
-Presents design concepts to clients or art directors
-Incorporates changes recommended by clients or art directors into final designs
-Reviews designs for errors before printing or publishing them
-Monitors graphic assignments and ensures that all graphic artwork is ready for submission by deadline
-Suggests graphic ideas that best complement stories and their content and provide potent points of entry for the readers
-Works with graphic and reporting staff to make sure all text within the graphic is accurate and grammatical and that the design of the graphic itself reflects an accurate and fair illustration of the content
-Discovers new tools to assist in the creation of visualizations
Guidelines
The Graphic Designer is expected to:
Adhere to General SOPs for the Graphics Team.
Adhere to SOPs specific to each Graphic episode.
Abide by the time deadlines set for each blog episode assigned.
Maintain good communication with the Graphic Designers for updates and revisions.
Gracefully accepts constructive feedback provided by customers and/or Team Manager, and apply the feedback to their own files moving forward.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Design experience including graphic design and layout skills with a strong portfolio that spans both physical and digital collateral
-Expertise in designing data visualizations, infographics, diagrams, captions, and illustrations
-Creative and possess exceptional attention to detail
-Expertise with layout, typography, and color
-Up to date with necessary design tools
-Effective communication skills
-Flexible and deadline-oriented
-Able to work under tight deadlines across many teams with quickly shifting priorities
-Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
-Good interpersonal skills and works well with a team
-Excellent time-management and organizational skills
-Able to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively
