Lead PHP Developer

We're searching for a dynamic Lead Founding Engineer to build AI features into our application and spearhead the transformation of our simple monolithic application into a decoupled front-end and back-end system. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our technical evolution and to earn equity in a venture that has the potential to disrupt the traditional recruiting model.

Build out AI and ML features within our solution and be responsible for understanding the intricacies of data flow and designing a back-end fortified with efficient API calls. Your ability to translate business requirements into technological solutions will be paramount. This entails taking requirements, conceptualizing them, and producing an executable plan complete with build and delivery estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop AI features working with solutions such as ChatGPT and Vectara
Decompose our monolithic application into a scalable front-end and back-end architecture.
Understand and optimize data flow, ensuring seamless front-end and back-end component integration.
Translate business requirements into robust technological solutions.
Produce detailed execution plans, complete with build and delivery estimates.
Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
Review and approve PRs while mentoring and training junior developers.
Map current system capabilities and features.
Create solution design and architecture.
Develop SDLC frameworks and optimize code structure.
Decouple components for scalability and resilience.
Create a future state roadmap aligned with our technical journey.
Participate in design reviews with the CTO and monitor site performance to address usability issues.
Contribute to and adapt existing documentation or educational content based on product updates and user feedback.
Analyze the current code and environment.

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience developing/implementing AI solutions
5+ years of software application development experience.
Expertise in PHP, MySQL, and full-stack software engineering.
Profound knowledge of RESTful API design, implementation, and data flow optimization.
Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, PHP, and modern SPA frameworks (React, Vue, Nuxt, Angular).
Experience with cloud services, microservices design, and serverless technologies.
Familiarity with various databases (SQL, NoSQL).
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to define solutions both verbally and in documented form.
