We are seeking a Cloud and Systems Administrator with expertise in AWS services, GeoServer,
PostgreSQL, and a variety of other platforms and systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
overseeing our application, cloud, geospatial, and database infrastructure, ensuring its optimal
performance, and providing technical support for our web-based applications, clients via account
managers and internal tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain AWS services, especially EC2 instances, S3 storage, Simple Email
Service and CloudFront distributions.
• Configure, maintain and support GeoServer for hosting and serving geospatial data.
• Administer, tune, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance,
and security.
• Create, setup, and administer server instances on Vultr.
• Manage Ubuntu 22.04 servers, ensuring they are secure, updated, and optimised.
• Handle Windows Server configurations, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Oversee Microsoft 365 administration, including user setup, licensing, migration of mail,
SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, and troubleshooting.
• Deploy, configure, and optimise web servers and related technologies such as Nginx, Varnish,
MySQL, and PHP-FPM along with SFTP access for users.
• Administer WordPress and Magento websites, including setting up staging and live
environments, ensuring security, updates, and optimal performance and helping developers
with migrations and server level host requests.
• Security and firewall hardening on a regular basis.
• Handle cPanel and WHMCS administration, ensuring they are running optimally.
• Set up, manage, and troubleshoot VPN solutions like Wireguard and OpenVPN.
• Maintain and document all processes and systems in Bookstack, Confluence, and Jira.
• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot applications developed in NodeJS.
• Manage and configure CloudFlare settings for optimal website performance and security.
• Collaborate with development teams, GIS, and database teams to ensure proper server
configurations, deployment processes, and optimisations are in place.
• Respond to email alerts in a timely manner to ensure the uptime of our applications, servers
for our customers.
• Creation of bash scripts to help automate processes.
• All work to be conducted via secure VPN/Remote Desktop.
• Preparing reports upon request.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or
equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with AWS services, specifically CloudFront, EC2, and S3.
• Proven expertise in setting up and managing GeoServer.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL database setup, administration, and
optimsation.
• Familiarity with Vultr and its offerings along with its portal.
• Proficiency in managing Ubuntu and Windows Server environments.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration.
• Hands-on experience with web technologies including Nginx, Varnish, MySQL, and PHP-FPM.
• Experience administering WordPress and understanding of its inner workings.
• Familiarity with cPanel, and WHMCS billing platforms.
• Experience with VPN solutions, specifically Wireguard and OpenVPN.
• Proficient in documentation tools like Bookstack, Confluence, and Jira.
• Basic understanding of NodeJS deployment and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CloudFlare configurations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent English spoken and written communication skills and ability to work in a team
environment.
