Position Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Web Developer who specializes in WordPress performance optimization. Our website is crucial to our business operations, and we need it to function optimally at all times. The primary focus of this role will be to run comprehensive diagnostics on our site, identify areas of improvement, and implement effective solutions to boost speed and enhance user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostics and Analysis -
Run a comprehensive diagnostic to identify bottlenecks in website performance.
Analyze website elements such as plugins, themes, scripts, and external services contributing to load times.
Benchmark website performance against industry standards.

Performance Optimization -
Minimize HTTP requests, optimize images, and streamline CSS and JavaScript files.
Implement and configure caching solutions to reduce server-side load.
Optimize WordPress database, clean up revisions, and implement best practices for database management.
Ensure compatibility and performance with mobile devices.

eCommerce and Design -
Have experience in setting up, maintaining, and optimizing Shopify or WooCommerce platforms.
Demonstrate capability in designing and implementing user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing website themes.
Collaboration and Reporting:

Work closely with our in-house design and content team to ensure all web modifications maintain brand consistency.
Recommend best practices and additional tools/resources that can help maintain website health.

Qualifications -
Proven experience in WordPress website optimization with a portfolio to showcase past work.
In-depth understanding of WordPress architecture, database structure, and best practices.
Familiarity with performance testing tools such as GTmetrix, Google PageSpeed Insights, or similar.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and their implementation.
Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and other relevant web technologies.
Experience in setting up, customizing, and optimizing either Shopify or WooCommerce platforms.
Demonstrated expertise in designing appealing and responsive website themes.

Compensation will be rendered on a per-project basis.
